UPDATE March 25, 2011: E! News has exclusively obtained a March 15 letter from Sheen's attorney to McGuigan stating that the agent does not represent Charlie in any capacity whatsoever. It also asks McGuigan to "cease and desist representing that you are authorized to act on behalf of our client."
________

Unlike his battle cry a few weeks ago on an L.A. rooftop, when it comes to scoring a mega-book deal, the pen might be mightier than the sword for this Vatican Warlock Assassin.

An insider in Charlie Sheen's camp is smacking down reports that the run-amok actor axed a literary agent for failing to come up with a "winning" bid for Sheen's tell-all.

That's because the guy never worked for Charlie in the first place!

The New York Post reported that Sheen fired Peter McGuigan of the Foundry Media Group after McGuigan managed to land a $1 million offer—by Sheen's standards a "paltry" figure.

Mr. Adonis had, per the Post, been expecting a "bitchin' rock star from Mars" windfall of $10 million for his tome, which, in a tweet earlier this month, he gave the tentative title Apocalypse Me ("Warlock Latin for WINNING," he enthused). But the Post goes on to claim that publishers were keeping their distance from the memoir, believing his almost daily tirades and upcoming Violent Torpedo of Truth Tour may leave little to tell.

Utter B.S., says the Sheen mole.

"Charlie doesn't have a book agent," the insider tells E! News. "Charlie said, 'Hey,' to this rep, 'bring me the offer.'  The guy never brought him the offer. This guy is trying to get a name out there with this line about there only being $1 million. Unfortunately exploiting Charlie is easy to do."

Guess Charlie will have to start doing a lot more of those Twitter endorsements from now on.

There was no comment from McGuigan, Foundry Media Group or Sheen's new publicist, Larry Solters.
