The former R&B hitmaker pleaded guilty today in New York to disorderly conduct stemming from his arrest last year when he alleged tried to solicit an undercover cop posing as a prostitute.
What kind of punishment did he get?
We're not really sure. The crime he pleaded to was technically a "violation," which is minor and obviously didn't carry any jail time. Beyond that, though, no one's talking. Prosecutors would only say that they were satisfied with the deal. A lawyer for D'Angelo (born Michael Archer) declined to comment.
Last March, the 37-year-old "Cruisin' " singer—considered to be the consummate ladies' man back in the day—was arrested in the West Village after allegedly pulling over his Range Rover and, per the NYPD, offering a woman $40 for a sex act.
He was booked on a count of patronizing a prostitute in the third degree and was released on his own recognizance.
D'Angelo won the 2000 Grammy for Best R&B Album forVoodoo, but has not released an album since. Instead, he's made headline for a string of legal troubles.
