Richard Dreyfuss might be kissing his invitation to the next family reunion goodbye.
The veteran actor, who most recently rounded out for the role of Dick Cheney in Oliver Stone's W., has filed a breach-of-contract lawsuit against his father and uncle, claiming that they've yet to make good on an $870,000 loan he extended them in his leading-man days.
Per documents filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, Dreyfuss said that his father, Norman, and uncle Gilbert had a business partnership years ago, and in 1984, they asked their prodigal relative for money to use in connection with an L.A. office building they owned at the time.
Dreyfuss' complaint states that he handed the money over and has been getting the run-around ever since, with Gilbert never making the partnership's tax returns and other financial records available for the Oscar winner's camp to review.
Then, according to the suit, when asked again about the possibility of repayment, Gilbert told Dreyfuss, "You can't get it."
Now the Jaws star wants it all back—plus interest and punitive damages.
