Lisa Edelstein is going back in time to address a very current issue.

In a new "Right to Choose" ad for the activist group MoveOn, the House star portrays a woman in the 1950s walking hesitantly down a hallway toward a closet door.

"Decades ago, women suffered through horrifying back alley abortions, or they used dangerous methods when they had no other recourse," Edelstein is heard saying in a voiceover.

Her words go on to question the attempts made recently by the Republican Party to limit women's access to vital services.

"Why is the GOP trying to send women back...to the back alley?" the actress asks as she sadly opens the door to reveal nothing more than a wire clothes hanger while dressed in modern attire.

The ad will reportedly air on various cable networks.
