Talk about shell-shock.

Tucked inside a giant egg that's being carried by a small army of scantily clad men, Lady Gaga made her crazy entrance at the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards one to remember, as promised.

So what's the deal with her arrival, and when can we see the dress?

We've got the exclusive details...

Gaga's choreographer and creative director, Laurieann Gibson, explained to our own Ryan Seacrest: "This is a womb...designed by Hussein Chalayan. She's now incubating, and she's been in there a serious amount of time so we can't let you know what it's made of."

And Nurse Anne V., the blond (and horned) glamazon also escorting the egg across the red carpet, chimed in, "Lady Gaga's heartbeat is 126 bpm. She's very excited to be here. She will be birthed during her performance this evening."

Way to build up the drama, ladies.

The pop star's legion of Little Monsters also created waves today—for helping E! set the Guinness world record for the biggest gathering of Lady Gaga impersonators at the Marriott Hotel in downtown Los Angeles!

So what do you think of all the Lady Gaga hype? Is her getup too much—or not enough!?
