Ellen DeGeneres is that much closer to snagging her invite to the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.
Why? Because it just wouldn't be proper to leave family off the guest list!
The talk-show maven revealed today that she was the proud recipient of a letter from the New England Genealogical Society—"which of course I thought was from my lady doctor," she quipped—informing her that she and Kate are 15th cousins.
We thought Kate's dance moves looked familiar...
According to the society, the two trendsetters are related through a man named Sir Thomas Fairfax and his wife, Agnes Gascoigne.
"You are distant cousins...but cousins still the same," the letter concluded.
"I'm definitely invited to the wedding now!" Ellen exclaimed. "Between the Packers winning the Super Bowl and this, I'm having a good week."
Kate and Wills are set to tie the knot April 29 at Westminster Abbey. And for future registry reference, Ellen lives really close to a Pier One and a Target.
