Bilbo Baggins has been ready for his close-up for quite some time. Now it looks like he's finally going to get it.

It has just been announced that cameras will begin rolling on The Hobbit next month—March 21 to be exact!

Assuming, of course, there aren't any more, say, threats of union strikes, financial issues, set fires or perforated ulcers, to hold things up.

In a statement released by his production company 3foot7 Ltd, director Peter Jackson said that "despite some delays we are fully back on track and excited to get started" with regards to the highly anticipated two-part Lord of the Rings prequel.

"March 21, 2011 has been chosen following practical considerations of the filming schedule requirements, actor availability and the New Zealand seasons," the statement added. "Shooting will take place at Stone Street Studios in Miramar and on location around New Zealand."

Definitely good news. And not just for Bilbo, but for Galadriel and Frodo as well.
