Leighton Meester may be tormenting Minka Kelly on the big screen in The Roommate, but in real life, Kelly's got the Gossip Girl in her corner.

The duo was inseparable Tuesday night at a Nylon magazine dinner celebrating Meester's February issue, where the cover girl announced Kelly was going to make a "kick-ass" Angel in ABC's reboot of the classic '70s series.

The lookalikes became fast friends while filming the thriller and hung at New York's W Hotel-Downtown last night with some odd dining buddies—Kanye West? Jared Leto? So how'd that dinner conversation go?

After Meester and Kelly posed for photos together, the two headed to a private dinner hosted by the magazine, where they chatted with Gossip Girl costars Jessica Szohr (who was spotted getting off on the wrong floor when she coulnd't find her pals) and Michelle Trachtenberg, along with Blue Bloods star Will Estes.

It turned into a real lovefest among the ladies, with Kelly laughing at how good Meester was at playing "deranged."

"It's crazy that we were able to become such close friends during filming, considering Leighton's character in the movie is mentally deranged and at times, scared the hell out of me," Kelly said.

Meester laughed it off, telling the guest that she "loves" Kelly.

"I'm so glad I got to work with her," Meester said. "She has a light around her and is so beautiful, incredibly talented, giving, and kind."

Meester gushed to Kanye about Kelly and the upcoming Angel's series, being produced by Drew Barrymore's Flower Films. The Friday Night Lights alum will star alongside Annie Ilonzeh and Rachael Taylor.

"I'm so proud of her, she's going to make one sexy, kick-ass Angel," said Meester.

The group then headed to the afterparty upstairs at the hotel's Living Room, where they raged until well past midnight.
