Joseph LlanesIt turns out Lisa Marie Presley had two reasons to be ticked off at the tabloids.
The rock 'n' roll progeny's rep has confirmed that she's expecting twins with hubby Michael Lockwood. This will be their first children together.
"It's a shock, because you think, 'Twins, oh my gosh, what are we going to do with them?' " mom Priscilla Presley told Entertainment Tonight last week. "I even told her, 'If you don't want twins, I will take one and make life easier for you!"
Priscilla is already grandma to two teenagers—Lisa Marie's 19-year-old daughter, Riley, and 15-year-old son, Benjamin, with ex-husband Danny Keough.
Presley reluctantly confirmed her pregnancy in March after Britain's Daily Mail published some very unbecoming photos and a caption suggesting that Presley may have inherited Elvis' famous appetite.
A couple months after Presley's camp filed a libel suit, the tabloid published a retraction, saying, "We now accept that the suggestion is untrue and [apologize] to Ms Presley for any distress caused."
"It is unfortunate that I couldn't have announced something that is this much of a blessing and that has made us so incredibly happy under better circumstances," Presley, who's due this fall, wrote in March on her MySpace blog.
"Pardon my seething contemptuous tone but ladies, you KNOW if you were pregnant and you felt you were expanding uncontrollably by the moment as a result and the worldwide media started badgering and harassing you for it, plastering you everywhere in an unflattering light, you would be mortified as well."
