Has 2011 already caught up with Charlie Sheen?

A source close to the actor tells me that reports of a two-day-long bender aren't true—because Sheen has been on a so-called bender for weeks.

Sheen most certainly did not land in the hospital this morning because of an overdose, the source assures me, but doctors are still trying to pinpoint exactly what's wrong.

"Charlie keeps saying it's his hernia,"  the source says. "He was curled up in a ball in excruciating pain" before one of the friends at his house called 911 this morning.

Oddly enough, the source adds, the pal who summoned the ambulance first phoned Dr. Paul Nassif, the plastic surgeon hubby of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Adrienne Maloof-Nassif, who in turn told the friend that Sheen needed help from other doctors. Nassif also called 911.

Makes sense, considering Sheen didn't need a nose job...

"He says things like, 'Men like me don't die,'" the source says of Sheen, adding that the Two and a Half Men star does not think he has a problem. "Give him some free time and he's off and running."
