Mitch Winehouse's name is in the paper almost as much as his daughter's these days. Looks like he wants to give her a run for her money on the airwaves, as well.

Amy Winehouse's cab-driving, media-friendly father is set to guest host a one-off afternoon call-in radio show on BBC's Radio London Sept. 1, filling in for the regular DJ who will be on vacation.

"Mitch has been a regular contributor to BBC London, calling into our phone-in shows," the station's assistant editor, Justin Kings, told the mothership.

"He always has something worthwhile to say and a good sense of humor. Although Mitch's life is extraordinary because of Amy, he's still a London dad, and I think our listeners can relate to him in that way."

The elder Winehouse knows from radio call-in programs, his go-to outlet to clear up rumors surrounding his troubled daughter.

The 57-year-old even disclosed to BBC Radio 1's Newsbeat that he has grown perhaps too comfortable in the glare of the spotlight.

"I question my own motives sometimes," he said. "Maybe I like the limelight a bit too much."

Maybe it runs in the family.
