Another day, another Twitter-ranting feud for Kanye West?

Not so fast.

At first glance Friday, it looked like the super fun start to a Twitter beef between the loquacious rapper and Britney Spears, when West sounded off that Spear's "Hold It Against Me" sat at No. 1 on the charts, while his and Jay-Z's "H.A.M" rested at No. 2:

Alas, however, it appeared to be just a bad attempt to poke fun at Spears.

"Yo Britney, I'm really happy for you and I'mma let you be #1, but me and Jay-Z's single is one of the best songs of all time!" West wrote, referencing his infamous Taylor Swift diss.

He later added "LOL" on the end of that sentence to signify, in no uncertain terms, that he was kidding. But it appeared Spear's manager didn't find West's tweet so funny.

"Thanks for 'letting us be #1,'" Adam Leber tweeted to West. "Much appreciated".

The so-sensitive Monster rapper later removed the tweet altogether and replaced it with:

"On a serious note I'm truly happy for Avril Lavigne and Britney Spears. No hate in 2011...I thought LOL signified a joke....I didn't get the 2011 LOL doesn't signify a joke anymore memo."

Perhaps West should keep his jokes to himself—LOL! Just kidding Kanye, right!?
