She may not have been sporting a dragon tattoo, but the girl still managed to get people's attention in a big way over the weekend.

At the Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala on Saturday, Rooney Mara showed off her Lisbeth Salander look while accepting the award for Best Ensemble Performance with her Social Network costars.

But the sight of the actress with her super-short black 'do and eyebrow piercing isn't the only thing that has us now even more excited for the American version of Stieg Larsson's novel The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.

Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor and collaborator Atticus Ross will once again be teaming up with David Fincher as they go from composing the Golden Globe-nominated music for the director's Social Network to working on the soundtrack for his Tattoo adaptation.

"I'm happy to announce that for the last month or so we've been scoring The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo," Reznor just revealed during an interview with The New York Times' TimeTalk series.

Yep. Dec. 21, Tattoo's scheduled release date, can't come soon enough.
