Rascal Flatts Member Jay DeMarcus Welcomes Baby!

Country star tweets his excitement about his first child with wife Allison, a baby girl named Madeline Leigh

Jay DeMarcus is head over heels for his new baby girl. 

Just a few months after Rascal Flatts guitarist Joe Don Rooney welcomed a daughter, the 39-year-old bassist followed suit with the birth of his first child with wife Allison, Friday.

"It's true! Madeline Leigh DeMarcus was born yesterday at 4:49pm," the doting dad wrote on his twitter page Saturday. "She weighed 6 lbs, 9 oz... Ali and I are so excited!!!"

And it doesn't look like the country star will be penning any ballads about the woes of diaper duty any time soon.   

"I didn't get much sleep last night. I kept waking up and thinking 'Oh my gosh, I'm a father!," DeMarcus told People. 

 

DeMarcus and his former Miss Tennessee ladylove married in 2004, after meeting on the set of one of the band's video shoots.
