Maybe he should stick to the funny and pass on the stunts.

After Justin Timberlake suffered a leg injury shooting his new film, Now, the studio has temporarily shut down production to give Mr. Sexyback time to get back on his feet, E! News confirms.

Here's what the production company has to say:

"Justin Timberlake sustained a muscle injury to his calf on the set of Andrew Niccol's thriller Now. Production has taken a brief hiatus and will resume shortly."

A set insider tells E! News that the shutdown will last about two weeks in all.

"He hasn't heard anything about the MRI results, but they're freezing production until he's off crutches and able to act again," says the source.

Timberlake was spotted last Thursday night hobbling around on crutches. He suffered his injury while performing a stunt on the film, which costars Amanda Seyfried and Olivia Wilde.

He was examined by doctors on Friday and is awaiting the results.

Despite his injury, he was still making an Oscar push. Timberlake hopped up to the ArcLight theater in Hollywood last week to join fellow castmembers from The Social Network for a special Q&A session. The panel discussion came just hours after the film was named best picture by the tastemakers at the National Board of Review.
