Dr. Laura Schlessinger joins nemesis Howard Stern on the satellite radio network, landing a new syndicated show of her own set to launch in January. It's a quick rebound following her N-bomb dropping rant this summer that earned her a racist tag and prompted her announcement that she was leaving broadcasting.
Alas, she's not going quietly. So what does she plan on yakking about on her new gig?
Dr. Laura, who will end her current radio show on Dec. 31, was wooed by Sirius XM following the August incident. She will transition to satellite on Jan. 3, with a three-hour weekday show at 2 p.m.
"The first and most important thing that appealed to me was the freedom to speak my mind without advertisers and affiliates being attacked by activist groups that just love to censor anything they don't agree with," Dr. Laura told the Hollywood Reporter. "That just about made my heart and head explode."
Schlessinger said that she plans on holding roundtable discussions on hot-button toppics, beginning with "racism, bigotry and hate."
We're sure she'll handle it with the subltety and tact she's known for.
