As soon as the news hit that Rachel Weisz and director Darren Aronofsky were dunzo, the rumor mill went into overdrive about Daniel Craig.

A report claims that Weisz had become extraordinarily close to the hunky James Bond actor while filming director Jim Sheridan's Dream House.

However...

Have a close read at the report because it doesn't actually say there's a secret romance going on.

And there's good reason why. A source insists Weisz and Craig are not having an affair.

"Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz have been friends since their theater years when they were younger," a source says. "They are the best of friends, but not lovers."

Craig is engaged to producer Satsuki Mitchell. They were even said to be married earlier this year when they were spotted wearing what appeared to be wedding bands.

The source says Weisz and the Black Swan director split this summer after being together for nine years, but "kept things quiet for the sake of their child."

Aronofsky will make his first public appearance since he and Weisz announced they had called it quits at tomorrow's red carpet premiere of Black Swan at the AFI Fest Presented by Audi.

We don't imagine he'll be addressing his private life then or anytime soon.

Weisz and Craig's reps are not confirming or denying the rumored bliss. They have yet to comment.

Can't wait to see that Dream House to see how much chemistry the two do—or don't—have.
