Tons o' New Pics! (October 2010): New photos popped up this week, helping to explain very basics of Captain America—which many Americans don't even know! Like how the hero was once Steve Rogers, a sickly young man who was given an experimental super soldier serum and sent into WWII to kick Nazi butt.

Looks like that worked pretty well. So go ahead, check out the photos in our Flick Pics: Captain America gallery and read on for more scoop...

Stan Lee Gets Ready for His Cameo (July 2010): Not only famous for creating some of the most iconic superheros in the world, Stan Lee is also known for his trademark cameos in the big-screen adaptations of his work. In the summer of 2010, the genius confirms that he will indeed continue the tradition with Captain America.

In an interview, Lee joked about his recurring appearances: "I think every movie producer realizes that the only reason people go to the movie is to see my cameo, so they dare not omit it," he laughed.

Neil McDonough Teams Up With the Howling Commado (June 2010): Just because you've developed a serum that turns people into models of human performance, it doesn't mean you just let them run wild without any direction. Enter Neil McDonough (Band of Brothers) as Dum Dum Dugan, leader of the Howling Commandos and an expert at taking on America's WWII enemies.

Stanley Tucci Joins the Super Soldier Program (June 2010): As part of his continued efforts to acheive total all-around awesomeness, Stanley Tucci, veteran of the stage and screen, joins the superhero saga as Dr. Abraham Erskine. Dominic Cooper Cast as Howard Stark, Tony's Dad (May 2010): We've gotten to know Tony very well over the last few years (reminder: he looks a lot like Robert Downey Jr.). In Captain America, we'll finally get some time the equally genius elder Stark. British thesp Dominic Cooper, best known for his roles in Tamara Drewe and The Duchess, joins the cast as the founder of Stark Industries.

Filmmakers Turn to Tommy Lee Jones for Military Oversight (May 2010): When you're in something like the Super Soldier Program and turning weak, fragile men into perfect specimens, you need an authoritative supervisor. She told MTV of her decision: "I'm a big supporter of [director] Joe Johnston and I think that Captain America is going to be really fun and I gather that the story is really interesting," she said. "It just wasn't what I wanted to do next, to be honest."

Safe to say it's a loss for all of us.

Captain America Villain Announced (February 2010): Although the announcement is brief and doesn't suggest who is up for the role, the filmmakers reveal Captain America will be going head-to-head with the Red Skull.
