GSI Media Forget that Twilight sequel. Robert Pattinson just finished a totally different kind of project.
The Sparkly One sent kids at the posh Connecticut boarding school Taft into a tizzy after making a cameo in a special video.
Pattz, showing off his new close-cropped 'do, is seen sneaking up and surprising Friday Night Lights director and Taft alumnus Peter Berg in the middle of the woods outside Baton Rouge, La., where The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn was filmed.
Berg, an actor-director who also starred on Chicago Hope, was in the class of 1980, and recruited Pattinson for the video to mark the school's traditional Headmaster Holiday.
"Taft has been causing problems for a while now," Pattinson deadpans, jumping right into a few vampire jokes about the school.
He gives a shout-out to one student, saying her ability to play three sports is "insane." "I don't think it's normal at all," he says seriously.
When Berg explains there's a faculty member that appears to be getting younger, Pattinson replies, "I told him so many times he should have left that school, everybody's gonna find out."
Headmaster Willy MacMullen told the school's newspaper that students were blown away when they spotted Pattinson.
"When the film was shown, it was deafening! Peter Berg has directed another blockbuster hit! I thought we were going to have to call in the medics—several of the girls looked as if they were about to have a heart attack!"
Berg, who also made a video for his alma mater last year, roped his friend into making the three-minute spot to continue the school's tradition, which dates back more than a century, to the election of President William Howard Taft, whose son was then a student. The school declared a short break in studies so Taft's son could attend the inauguration.
