Will Jay-Z treat Rihanna like she's the only artist in the world?

Five years after kick-starting her career by signing her to Def Jam Recordings, Jay-Z has signed his one-time protégée to his Roc Nation entertainment company.

"I am so excited to take this next step in my career," said Rihanna, whose next album, Loud, comes out Nov. 16.

By the way, this "next step" entails more than just switching management teams.

The Barbados-born songbird has also announced that she's forming Rihanna Entertainment, a catchall company to oversee all aspects of her brand, including music, films, fashion, book ventures, a fragrance line and whatever else comes up.

Rihanna was previously managed by Marc Jordan. She and rumored expectant dad Jay-Z have shared Grammy wins for "Umbrella" and "Run This Town."
