T.I. Going Back to Jail? We Should Know Soon

Grammy winner will learn next week whether his probation will be revoked after his arrest for drug possession

T.I. has a date with a judge.

The Paper Trail rapper will appear in federal court in Atlanta on Oct. 15 at 2 p.m., when he'll learn whether he'll face the music following his bust last month on felony drug possession in Los Angeles, according to a court spokeswoman. 

And he'll have some serious 'splaining to do.

The hearing was requested by T.I.'s probation officer, Jack D. Briscoe, who was unhappy about the self-proclaimed King of the South's latest slip-up while on parole in his federal weapons.

T.I. and wife Tameka "Tiny" Cottle each were slapped with one count of felony possession of a controlled substance stemming from their Sept. 1 arrest. Cops pulled them over after smelling pot wafting from the couple's SUV, and found codeine, marijuana and Ecstasy in the vehicle.

The hip-hopster (real name Clifford Harris Jr.) tested positives the next day for opiates, authorities say, and also allegedly had been hanging out with a convicted felon, all violations of his probation.

The MC's camp will have to show why his bail shouldn't be revoked and if his excuse doesn't fly, U.S. District Court Judge Charles Pannell could send him back to the big house. T.I. finished a seven-month sentence in a federal lockup earlier this year. We won't know until the hearing how much time T.I. might be facing.

Meanwhile, the entertainer and his missus held a benefit luncheon for an Alzheimer's charity in Atlanta on Sunday. Both T.I. and Tiny's fathers died of the disease.

Maybe that will sway the court to go easy on him.
