For Lindsay Lohan, getting out of Hollywood, at least temporarily, is a step in the right direction.

E! News confirms that the Betty Ford Center in Rancho Mirage, Calif., is indeed the rehab clinic the actress checked into earlier this week.

Lohan is expected to stay and receive treatment at the facility near Palm Springs until her next hearing on Oct. 22.

We have also learned that, while Lohan's inner circle urged her to check into Betty Ford within hours of her release from jail last Friday, the reason she did not enter the facility sooner was because it simply did not have a room for her yet. It was not because she was resisting or stalling entry into a hard-core program.

"There is no TV, no newspaper, no Internet and no cell phones," addiction specialist Marty Brenner tells E! News. "She will have to share a room with another person and she will go to group session with 13 other people and individual session."

Brenner, who is not involved with the Lohan case, says the actress can expect to see visitors only once a week on Sunday.

It remains to be seen how her stint in rehab will affect her parents' dueling bids to set up a conservatorship, something Lindsay is reportedly against.

Of course, Lohan isn't the first celebrity to take up residence at Betty Ford. David Hasselhoff, Keith Urban, Ozzy Osbourne and Elizabeth Taylor are just a few of the famous folks who have sought help there.
