Authorities are still deciding whether to get Russell Brand, aka Katy Perry's white knight, to the courthouse.
The L.A. City Attorney's Office has received the police's paperwork but has not formally filed charges against Brand in connection with his arrest last week at LAX for allegedly popping a paparazzo until they receive "further information" that has been requested, office spokesman Frank Mateljan told E! News Thursday.
"We are looking at it but there is no indication either way yet or a timeline," he said. "Once we get the information we requested from the police we will decide."
Brand was taken into custody by airport police on suspicion of battery and ultimately released on his own recognizance after being booked at L.A.'s Pacific Division station.
Later that night, Perry tweeted that Brand stepped up to protect her after the shutterbug, who made a citizen's arrest, tried to angle his camera up her skirt.

We bet if Elmo had been in Russell's shoes, he would have done the same thing.
