It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia has spawned a ray of sunshine.

Rob McElhenney and Kaitlin Olson, wacky sitcom costars and real life husband and wife, have welcomed their first child together, E! News confirmed today.

Son Axel Lee McElhenney was born at the couple's California home Wednesday at 12:52 p.m., the proud new parents said in a statement.

Appropriately enough, Olson went into labor Tuesday night at the Dodgers-Phillies game.

"As soon as Ryan Howard hit a three-run home run, we felt comfortable leaving to go have our baby," Olson said. "We love him like crazy, even though he made us miss the second half of the game."

McElhenney and Olson, who have nary a kind word for one another on It's Always Sunny, tied the knot in September 2008 in Malibu, the second in-house duo to swap vows.

Charlie Day and Mary Elizabeth Ellis, the repulsed object of his affection on the show, have been married since 2006.

The sixth season of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia  premieres Sept. 16 on FX.

People was first with the baby news.
