Fantasia Barrino should take the rest of her summertime off for R&R.

The singer has been released from a North Carolina hospital, two days after overdosing on aspirin and sleep aids in what authorities have characterized as a suicide attempt.

"She has been lifted up by the outpouring of love and support from her fans," manager Brian Dickens said in confirming her release Wednesday. "She is more committed than ever to her daughter and her work because they are her heart, her soul and inspiration."

A police report released today, along with a recording of the 911 call made Monday night to summon paramedics to Barrino's Glynmoor Lakes home, calls the singer's overdose a suicide attempt.

Her meltdown occurred less than a week after the divorce-seeking wife of a man she had been seeing accused Barrino of ruining her marriage. Dickens later said that Barrino had believed Antwaun Cook when he told her that he and wife Paula separated last summer.

The second season of Fantasia for Real is scheduled to premiere Sept. 19 on VH1.
