Michael Lohan facing harassment count following dustup with former fiancée Kate Major

Michael Lohan says he can't wait to visit Lindsay Lohan in jail this weekend to make sure she's faring well. He might want to take copious notes.

The Lohan patriarch is facing more grief in his tabloid-ready life, charged today with harassing fiancée Kate Major.

Make that former fiancée...

While Michael skedaddled to L.A. to be present for the Lindsay court circus on Tuesday, Major, best know for her supporting role in the Jon and Kate Gosselin mess, filed a domestic violence report with the Southampton Town Police Department. A source close to Major said Michael was "out of control" during a dustup on Monday.

Needless to say, their engagement is off.

"He took the ring back," says the source, adding that Major "feels safer he's not around."

According to her complaint, obtained by E! News, Lohan flipped over a couch Major was sitting on, threw a shoe at her and kicked her in the mouth.

"My left collarbone is sore and my right knee is scraped," she says in an affidavit. "After he kicked me he said, 'I am going back to jail, because I'm going to kill you.' "

A judge has granted an order of protection barring any contact between the two for the time being.

For his part, Lohan is blaming Major for the drama.

"Michael Lohan 100 percent denies each and every one of Kate Major's allegations.  He has never threatened to harm her, never assaulted her, and never physically abused her in any way," his lawyer, Lisa Bloom, says in a statement.

"Kate was heavily intoxicated during the verbal argument between Michael and Kate in the early afternoon on Monday early.  Michael Lohan has been clean and sober for six years," Bloom continues.

The elder Lohan has a lengthy rap sheet, including a stint behind bars and battles with substance abuse.

Last year he wound up making the police blotter for nearly the same M.O.—allegedly threatening to kill then-fiancée Erin Mueller. But a misdemeanor harassment count was set aside with the stipulation he stay out of a trouble for a year. That year ended on June 3.

Lohan is due back on Long Island on Aug. 18 for arraignment on the new count of second-degree harassment. But his lawyer doesn't sound too worried.

"Michael Lohan is fully cooperating with the police investigation," says Bloom. "He expects to be fully vindicated."
