Ryan O'Neal is in the clear.

A Los Angeles judge today erased a felony drug charge against the 69-year-old actor after he wrapped up an 18-month drug-awareness program.

"He did successfully complete his diversion program and the case was dismissed today," said Jane Robison, spokeswoman for the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office.

O'Neal was rung up for methamphetamine possession following a 2008 bust. Authorities conducting a probation check on his drug-addled son, Redmond, found the illegal narcotics in the elder O'Neal's Malibu home.

In January 2009, the Love Story star was sentenced to the 18-month diversion program. Redmond was subsequently remanded to outpatient rehab but ended up getting incarerated again after trying to sneak heroin to a pal in a jail, and after a stint in a behind bars specializing in hard-core rehab, he is now in a sober house.

On June 25, the elder O'Neal marked the one-year anniversary of Farrah Fawcett's death and told the Today Show that he looked forward to having Redmond back home in the fall so they could properly mourn his longtime love together for the first time.
