La Toya Jackson Not Backing Down: "Michael Was Murdered"

Sister speaks out in advance of one-year anniversary of brother's death; maintains he was killed for others to profit from his back catalog

A lot of things can change in a year. La Toya Jackson's opinion on what, exactly, befell her brother is clearly not one of them.

In an interview with Britain's GMTV to mark the one-year anniversary of Michael Jackson's death, the famous sibling continued to beat the drum about the conspiracy she believes led to the King of Pop's death and explained why she thinks Conrad Murray's continued freedom is "a slap in the face" not only to the entire Jackson family, but to Michael's fans.

Long an outspoken believer that events more sinister than an accidental overdose of propofol led to Michael's death, La Toya continued to air her grievances this morning, saying her family was experiencing continued "frustration on the part of what actually happened and what took place."

"Personally I think it's a slap in the face not just to Michael but to the entire family. It's totally unfair, it's wrong and it was not an accident. I don't understand the justice system here. I don't understand what's going on and why this is taking so long and why the people that are responsible for this are not given the justice they deserve."

And La Toya once again reiterated that she "never had a doubt" that there were in fact people responsible.

"Michael was murdered for his catalog," she said. "That's the bottom line, he was murdered for his catalog. And they knew that and they knew Michael was worth so much more dead than alive. His children deserve the truth, I think his parents deserve the truth, his family and his fans."

Still, while she stands firm on her story that Michael was murdered, she admitted that he was far from being the picture of health, referring to him as "excruciatingly thin" just a few weeks before his death.

"He's always been thin, but Michael was not well, and the people that worked around him knew that he was not well. Michael did not have a good bill of health, although it was reported that he did. The insurance and the doctor that looked after him said it was, but no it was not.

"Michael was very cold, Michael was freezing, temperature would go up and down. He was extremely fragile. When you embraced him and hugged him, he was all bones."

As for tomorrow's tragic milestone, La Toya said she can't believe it's already been a year since her brother's passing.

"It's amazing how fast a year can go, especially when you're still grieving over something…Nobody in my family can believe it's been a year.

"It's been extremely difficult. People say that we've lost an icon, we've lost someone that can never, ever, ever be replaced. Michael was so special, he was so different, he was so unusual. He was so loving, he was so caring, he was a father, he was also a mother, he was a brother. He was a giving person…the talent that was there and the love that exuberated from him when you were around him is something that will be greatly missed, especially by those like myself and my family who really knew the real Michael."

Her sisterly gushing didn't stop there.

"I have to be quite frank with you, Michael was something sent from god. Michael was truly something special from god. You guys never really saw what was really within him, the talent that he truly, truly had, that he only gave you a little bit of it. It's amazing."

As for his passing, La Toya called it "heartbreaking, heartbreaking because there's nothing you can do…it's the most helpless feeling in the world.

"My poor mother, she just sat there with the kids on her lap. She just sat there looking straight ahead. And I could see the pain and the sorrow in her eyes, but she was strong. She chose not to cry. And I think she chose that for the children."
