Lights Out for Jimmy Kimmel?!

Host films entire episode on his MacBook webcam after power outage knocks out lights and cameras at ABC talk show

All we can say is, thank God this didn't happen during tomorrow night's show.

Roughly an hour before the laughfest that is Jimmy Kimmel Live! was set to roll tape last night, a power outage cut off the studio's electricity, rendering lights, cameras and mics and made any sense of professional television completely obsolete.

When this happened to Craig Ferguson last year, the cheeky monkey grabbed a flashlight and a generator and carried on. Well, technology has moved on since then. So what did Kimmel do?

He grabbed his laptop and shot the entire hour on his webcam.

"We had a power outage at the studio tonight," he tweeted. "No one was killed. Shot the whole show on my MacBook. It will air tomorrow night instead."

For those not following the timeline, that's tonight. (Fear not, not even a prankster like Kimmel would dare mess with the Twihards.)

Guests on the lo-fi show include the ever game Seth Rogen, Wipeout's John Henson and country crooner Dierks Bentley, who improvised by changing his set into an acoustic performance.

There's still no word on what caused the outage, but we wouldn't be surprised if this man had a little something to do with it.
