At least one good thing has come from today's bogus celebrity-death report: The Game's tweets.

"As a matter of fact, I am dead," went one entry from the Grammy-winning rapper this morning. "I'm the 1st n-gga to #graveTweet!!!"

No, not bad for a man supposedly gunned down at a Los Angeles mall. But wait—the Game's only getting started.

"I tell you on thing though, you can't really get good reception here in this coffin.... Damn T-Mobile !!!," he complained.

The 30-year-old star is in Sacramento, where he's set to play a club tonight. Wrote the Game about the gig: "Im bringn all da zombies from thriller & I dug up Rick James b!tch ! Being dead is da best."

As you may have noticed, the rapper is taking "news" of his demise with exceedingly good humor.

"Who ever started da rumor dat I was dead is funny as hell," he wrote. "If u gone spread rumors, b more creative. Say, I had a fight wit the Toy Story cast or sumn & it turned fatal ha ha.."

Ah, but there was no whimsy in the fake news that sprung perhaps from a make-your-own-press-release site. The bogus report had the Game going out in clichéd rapper fashion: Fatally shot in the head Sunday night at L.A.'s Beverly Center. (If the location sounds morbidly familiar, that's because up-and-coming rapper Dolla was taken out by gunfire there, for real, last year.)

No matter to The Game. He's alive and tweeting and dropping a new album, The R.E.D. Album, on Aug. 24.

Oh, and in case you were worried, and/or wondering what the Game has in common with a certain 1970s pop-culture figure: C.W. McCall, the singer-songwriter who scored with the CB-radio-inspired "Convoy," isn't dead, either.
