Hands up if you didn't see this one coming.

Less than a week after his second career DUI bust—this time, with a blood-alcohol level nearly three times the legal limit, per police—Chris Klein has voluntarily checked himself into rehab.

"After recent events, Chris was forced to take a clear look at a problem he has been trying to deal with himself for years," his rep said in a statement. "He understands now that he cannot beat this disease alone.

"He thanks everyone for their support as he takes all the necessary steps to deal with his addiction and asks for privacy while doing so."

Announcing the location and length of his rehabilitation may not be the best way to ensure his privacy, but Klein's rep confirmed that the erstwhile American Pie guy will complete a minimum of 30 days in an addiction program at Utah's Cirque Lodge and will remain longer should he see fit.

The 31-year-old actor was busted early Wednesday morning when cops spotted him weaving across the freeway. He failed a field sobriety test and was released later that day on $25,000 bail (his dog, with him in the car at the time, was picked up by a pal).

Unfortunately, Klein was already on probation at the time of his arrest, having pleaded guilty back in 2005 to misdemeanor DUI charges, and a second conviction would lead to jail time.

So while his stint in rehab may be voluntary, it's probably also pretty strategic.
