FX Sweeps Away Dirt

Dirt just bit the dust.

Courteney Cox's post-Friends foray to the small screen has been deep-sixed by FX after two seasons.

While the series outlived the small-screen efforts of all her other former costars, the cable show lasted just 21 episodes and was canceled after the post-writers' strike episodes saw a steady decline in viewers.

The final episode of the show, starring Cox as a tabloid magazine editor who stops at nothing for salacious showbiz gossip, aired April 13, but it won't be Cox's last attempt at TV success.

"We're developing all kinds of stuff right now," she told TV Guide of her work with hubby David Arquette. "We'll be producing more stuff together, for sure."
