Statement from Phil Maloof's rep confirms that Spears was at his birthday party, but manager denied E!'s original report

E! News has reconfirmed that Britney Spears was indeed in attendance at a birthday party Saturday night for hotel owner and longtime pal Phil Maloof, despite our original article being tagged by Team Britney as "bulls#!t" on her website.

"Phil thanks Britney Spears and all his friends and supporters of Black Star Beer for celebrating with him Saturday night," Maloof rep Zachary Solov, who was also a guest at the bash at Drai's Hollywood, says in a statement.

Who's second-guessing their sources now, eh?

"Brit went to Disneyland this weekend—not to a party in Hollywood! See who's reporting BS," her manager, Adam Leber, wrote on Spears' Twitter page on Tuesday.

And to pull the happiest place on earth into it, too!

E! News reported Saturday that Spears showed up at Maloof's shindig with an unidentified gentleman who was not boyfriend Jason Trawick, but who may have been a bodyguard.

We've since learned she was ushered in by security from an entrance on Argyle Street and set up shop in the VIP area. (Also, we know for sure that Spears was at Disneyland...on Mother's Day, a week before the Maloof party.)

Regardless, our party source didn't see anything romantic go down. Brit's father, Jamie Spears, was there, as well.
