Um, if at first you don't succeed...

Despite god-awful reviews for his performance as this year's host, glutton for punishment  British funnyman Ricky Gervais is ready for a rerun at next year's festivities.

"Obviously I didn't burn enough bridges, so I am going to do it again. I'm the presenter, the host for the 2011 Golden Globe Awards, but I'm going to go all out this time," Gervais announced this morning on Ryan Seacrest's radio show. He says the offer was too "irresistible" for him to pass up.

The Globe-enabling Hollywood Foreign Press is "such an odd little bunch of people, and I can't say no to them. It's like I won a competition...like I'm doing charity work for those people," Gervais said. "They're not cool and sophisticated; I mean most of them aren't symmetrical."

But they know a winner when they see one. The Gervais-hosted Golden Globes attacted 16.9 million viewers compared to 14.9 million in 2009.

"I'm gonna have to make sure I say something so horrendous that they never invite me back," added Gervais.

We look forward to it.
