After months of legal drama, rehab, bad disguises, buzz cuts and tabloid headlines, Charlie Sheen and Brooke Mueller have split.

"Charlie has returned to old habits," a source close to the Mueller family exclusively tells E! News. "Brooke has moved out of their family home. Brooke and Charlie still talk, but they don't see each other."

Despite reports that Sheen moved back into his house with an escort, in turn prompting Mueller to leave, the source says that scenario is "totally false."

"Charlie is still in rehab," the insider explains. "He isn't living at home right now."

There was no immediate comment from Mueller's attorney on the marital turmoil. However, Sheen's publicist, Stan Rosenfield, disputed the family source's contention, telling E! News the information is "not true" without elaboration.

As for the fate of Two and Half Men?

"Nothing is for sure yet," the source says. Sheen has not yet re-upped his contract for the hit show, and his publicist has denied the maneuver is a negotiating ploy.

While Sheen and Mueller are currently leading separate lives, both remain devoted to their twin sons.

"The kids are with Brooke full-time. When Charlie visits the kids, she usually leaves the house," says the source. "She's trying to keep things amicable for the sake of the boys."

But don't count the couple out just yet.

"There haven't been divorce discussions yet," adds the source. "Brooke will always love Charlie because he is the father of her children, and they don't know the fate of their relationship yet."
