Big Brother sure does draw some interesting characters these days.

An erstwhile contestant from the ninth season of the hit CBS reality series was collared last weekend for allegedly beating up his pregnant girlfriend, E! News has learned.

Jake Wark, spokesman for the Boston District Attorney's Office, confirms that Matt McDonald was taken into custody Sunday around 3:30 p.m. after he and his unidentified lady pal got into an ugly spat over allegations of infidelity. The self-proclaimed "biggest liar/sweet talker" was charged with assault and battery and aggravated assault and battery because the victim is seven-and-a-half weeks preggers.

The baby mama filed her complaint at a police station shortly after the alleged incident occurred at McDonald's residence.

According to the police report, the two got into argument "over a text message on her cell phone the victim received from an old friend."

At that point, "the suspect accused the victim of cheating on her and attacked the victim by grabbing both her arms and dragging her into a different room and then strangled the victim stating 'I hope the baby dies and hope u [sic] have a miscarriage."

The next day, the woman further alleges, the former Big Brother houseguest returned from a trip to the store and accused her of pouring water on his plasma TV, breaking it.

McDonald then kicked her in the collarbone while she was sitting, then put her in a headlock and punched her in the arms, per the report.

But it doesn't stop there. The victim claimed he later phoned her father, at which point she screamed for him to help, prompting Matt to shout, "Shut the f--k up or I'll punch you in the face." She also contends McDonald threatened to off her dad if he called the cops. It was then she ran out of the apartment and sought out police, who observed bruises and red marks on her collarbone, neck and arms, according to the police report.

During questioning, McDonald told his arresting officers that it was she who attacked him and not the other way around.

No bail was set and McDonald was eventually released. He pleaded not guilty Tuesday to the charges in Charleston District Court and was ordered by a judge to have no contact with his girlfriend.

Sounds like Matty Boy's a real charmer.
