Kate Gone After the Dancing With the Stars Ouster You've All Been Waiting For!

Lucky seven remain after another dramatic elimination show

Dancing With the Stars altered its approach tonight.

Instead of waiting until the final moments of Tuesday's elimination show to reveal the bottom two couples, Kate Gosselin and Tony Dovolani were revealed right off the bat to be one of the duos in danger.

The polarizing reality-TV mom, who continued to hold court in last place Monday after her entirely bizarre fox-trot ode to '80s-era prom, looked shocked—shocked!—to be in such a precarious position. The inexplicably supportive Tony smiled at her reassuringly.

And she had reason to be worried, too, when Niecy Nash, who was on the block last week and continued to underwhelm with a disappointingly sedentary jive last night, was ushered backstage.

"Well, you know, it is what it is," Kate said when Brooke Burke asked if she was surprised at being in the bottom two. "Kind-of maybe…but not really."

So, what is it, exactly?

It was an emotional end of the road for Kate Gosselin on Dancing With the Stars.

At first, the mother of eight was too choked up to talk, so Tony got the farewells rolling with some extremely supportive remarks.

"I'm very proud of Kate," said the Dancing vet, who was rumored at times to be extremely unhappy with his charge this season, at one point threatening to quit on camera. "'Cause I know she gets a lot of criticism out there and it is difficult—especially knowing my wife watching with three kids—she has eight kids and she's a single mom, so I give her all the credit in the world for showing up. As exhausted as she was, she still showed up every day."

He continued: "As a teacher, I'm very proud of you, because I thought you danced beautifully. You showed America that it doesn't matter how much things go against you, you stll come out here and give it your best."

Wow, pretty nice stuff.

Kate even let her tightly controlled guard down for a few moments as the tears flowed and Tom Bergeron skipped the usual video montage to allow for extra interview time. First, he asked her why she told him earlier in the evening that she thought she was done for tonight.

"My gut feelings are always right, and it's OK," she said. "I had the opportunity, I'm very, very honored to have been here. I love everyone that I met. It was a great experience, and...I'm sorry I'm crying. I'm a crybaby.

"I had a wonderful teacher," she continued, "and honestly, I cannot wait to watch the rest of these people perform on Monday nights, because they all do a really great job."

And with that, the Kate Gosselin era on Dancing WIth the Stars came to an end.

That doesn't mean the drama is over, though. Pamela Anderson and partner Damian Whitewood were the other couple in the bottom two.

"It's crazy, and it's not right!" exclaimed Bruno Tonioli.
