UPDATE: Well, look who's a fan! Scott Baio has gotten back to us via (where else?) Twitter:

"@eonline Report the TRUTH not 1/8 of it. Funny how it goes viral when twisted Next time I WILL post the hate mess. 4 all 2 C." We look forward to it!
________

It came from the '80s: Scott Baio's hate-filled misogynistic Twitter rant, that is.

Here's the deal: Earlier this month, Mr. Charles in Charge released unto the interwebs a right-leaning tweet about finishing his taxes. Amused, the good ladies over at Jezebel included his missive in their daily roundup of ridiculous things celebrities say (in 140 characters or less).

So far, so good, right? Wrong. You see, Jezebel did not include all the self-serving positive messages Baio sent out, and that, it appears, caused an irreparable rift in the Facebook-Twitter continuum.

Enter wife Renee Baio, who posted this measured, much-researched and thought-provoking response on her Facebook page:

"F**kYOU Jezebel.com web rag!!!!! You bunch of FAR LEFT Lesbian s--tasses!!!!!!! No wonder you're all lesbos because what man in his right mind could put up with your c--tness? Scott Baio has more class in his piss than all of you all!!!"

Not one to leave his wife to fight his battles, Baio classed it up on his Twitter page as well.

"Let's see if web-rag jezebel.com will post my Twt abt schools, service ppl, spec.needs kids & animal abuse? They sound like hypocrites 2 me!"

He then went on to seek out one of the site's writers, telling her that "the name Jezebel says a lot about the founder," and ask how she could bear writing for them.

When she replied, "You, sir, hang yourself with your own rope," Baio decided to reach into his white man's back pocket and pull out…the race card? Not again

"You sound like an ignorant racist, 'hang with my own rope' Shame shame on you," he tweeted. "I will pray for you as you def. need love & God.

"I'm Blocking your uneducated ignorant hateful ass. But I will still pray for you."

Well, if those are the criteria required for Baio's prayers, his wife may be on the receiving end of some as well.

Renee attempted (not so successfully) to paint herself not as a hater of lesbians, but as a hater of lesbian s--tasses (a fine distinction), under which she still files Jezebel writers and readers.

"True FACT: I have lesbian friends that couldn't be nicer. They are true loyal friends. Those Jezebel lesbians are S--TASSES!!!!!!" she wrote on Facebook. "I have close friends of all color, sizes, religions, diff. political views,Special needs. & with or without animals."

We wouldn't exactly class people with special needs alongside the petless masses, but to each their own.

"I love them all I do NOT & will NOT stand for ANYONE bashing my family, friends or BBAF. The haters are NOT the only people that can exercise FREEDOM OF SPEECH…"

Not that she's doing much to disprove that.

Still, the Baios are on the warpath, and have vowed to forward to the attorney general's office all the opposing comments that they claim were not posted on Jezebel last week. And let us be the first to say we can't wait—showing a hand that doesn't exist is, after all, a pretty neat trick.

"We all have the right to exercise our freedom of speech, including my wife," Baio wrote just yesterday. "Funny how opposing view comments aren't allowed on that rag site. Seems like a 1-sided silly thing to NOT allow opposing comments. Scared of the truth maybe. Anyway we are certainly laughing as are others!"

"p.s. Renee only accepts frd request on FB from actual ppl she knows. Nice try though. If you can't read my twts UR blocked Dumbass! Wa Wa Waa."

And as much as we'd like to give Scott the last word ("Waa" is pretty tough to beat), we're giving it to Renee, seeing as how she ended her tirade by proving she had at least one kind word to say.

"Thanks to all that helped show this sites Propoganda," she wrote.

Oh no, Baios. Thank you.
