To us, the biggest scandal of the day ain't In Touch Weekly's allegations, it's Charlie Sheen's mustache maneuver. So we decided to get to the bottom of it and put in a call to Team Sheen.

In case you missed it, the hysterically fake-'stached Sheen, accessorized with shades, hoodie and cigarette, is plastered on the cover of the new issue along with the accusation: "Caught Cheating!"

But according to publicist Stan Rosenfield, the (former?) Two and Half Men star wasn't on some covert booty call when he made like a poor man's Tom Selleck. Instead, Rosenfield insists, Sheen was just having fun with the paparazzi as he paid a visit to a friend who needed a hand.

"The woman in question is the sister of one of Sheen's campmates, and Sheen was only responding to a 12th-step call," says Rosenfield. "Since Sheen knew he was being followed and how this would look, he wore the mustache in a tongue-in-cheek disguise gesture."

So there you go. Just one question: Do you believe it?
