First John Forsythe and now his TV nemesis.

Christopher Cazenove, the British actor who played scheming brother Ben Carrington in the 1980s prime-time soap Dynasty, has died at 64.

The actor lost a "valiant fight" to septicemia, a bacterial blood infection, and "died peacefully surrounded by his loved ones" Wednesday at St. Thomas' Hospital in London, according to his agent, Lesley Duff.

His death comes one week after Forsythe's, who played family patriarch Blake Carrington. It's another loss for Dynasty fans who enjoyed watching Cazenove's character join forces with Joan Collins' devious ex-wife, Alexis, to plot the downfall of the fictional Denver oil magnate.

In a statement to the BBC, Collins remembered Cazenove as "an absolutely charming man and a very good actor" whom she "very much enjoyed" working with.

After Dynasty introduced him to U.S. audiences, Cazenove appeared in 3 Men and a Little Lady and played Heath Ledger's father in A Knight's Tale.
