Chad Ochocinco, for one, is hoping viewers tune in next week to watch him and Cheryl Burke "make love on the dance floor" (that's one way to say rumba).
Although that, at least, we can understand people maybe wanting to see...
First of all, Buzz Aldrin, spry and charming as ever, and his partner Ashly Costa were mercifully eliminated Tuesday after landing at the bottom of the leaderboard for the third week in a row.
"I did this show for the fighter pilots out there, the military people, and the elder geezers like me who would just like to see an elder come back week after week," the 80-year-old NASA pioneer said graciously. "I'm interested also in having the public be thankful for the great successes we had in the Apollo program, and we look forward to even greater successes in our future space programs. That's why I came on board, to take the challenge, take the risks, and I thank everyone who voted for me."
Meanwhile, Kate Gosselin, who—aside from what you think about her life choices, her divorce, her hair, etc.—just isn't good, managed to avoid the bottom two yet again.
Instead, that dishonor fell to Jake Pavelka, who turned in quite a good quickstep last night.
Come on, people!
At least that meant that last week's surprise bottom-feeders, Pamela Anderson and Damian Whitewood, were in the clear tonight, resulting in a whoop of joy from Pam, who obviously does not want to be done dancing.
Last night's first-place duo, Evan Lysacek and Anna Trebunskaya, were asked to repeat their quickstep tonight, indicating early on that they were safe, yet they had to watch Aiden Turner, Erin Andrews, Niecy Nash and Nicole Scherzinger go ahead first.
Nicole had a rough time with the judges last night, having to sit through a round of lectures because Derek Hough got all fancy with his sailor-inspired quickstep choreography (must have been all that sea air he thought he was breathing).
"We're going to come back next week and we're going to repent," Nicole promised. Predictably miffed head judge Len Goodman didn't cool off any tonight, either, even remarking that he should have given Erin a 6 instead of a 7 because her waltz didn't have enough waltz in it.
He should probably save the vitriol for next week.
