How exciting: Michelle Obama is featured in our couture battle for the very first time!

Yesterday, Mrs. O donned an awesome gray, gathered Lanvin dress to celebrate International Women's Day at the White House. The metallic pointy-toe pumps she paired with it work perfectly—she looks chic yet totally professional. (This isn't her first time out in Lanvin, either—remember these?)

Meanwhile, stunner Charlize Theron rocked her Lanvin—shortened and in movie-star gold lamé, natch—to the premiere of The Burning Plain in France last year. With so much metal going on, she wisely chose to complement the dress with simple black accessories.

This one's a toughie, because both ladies look pretty fabulous. But who gets the win, the First Lady of Fashion or the Oscar winner?
