Pamela Anderson's New Ad a Real Pain in the Aussie

Australia bans Baywatch babe's Down Under commercial for domain names amid complaints the bikini-clad footage is too raunchy

Pamela Anderson is too hot for Australian TV. Family-friendly, Disney-owned American programming, on the other hand, is apparently a perfect fit.

For the second time in as many weeks, a country that we quite frankly expected better of has banned a commercial that a puritanical majority minority has deemed too hot to air.

Guess girls in bikinis and taking a page out of Zachary Quinto's book is more than the Australian constitution can handle.

The offending ad begins with the Baywatch turned Dancing With the Stars babe in full corporate mode while shilling for the Down Under domain company CrazyDomains.com. Pretty soon, a coworker's imagination gets the better of him, and Anderson is quickly depicted alongside a female cohort getting doused in cream.

The ad, which quickly tallied more than 40 complaints for its supposed raunch factor, has subsequently been banned.

Advertising Standards Bureau chief executive Fiona Jolly told Australia's The Age newspaper that the commercial was "meant to be a cheeky, over-the-top depiction, but in the bureau's view it did cross the line."

Crazy Domains' head crazy, managing director Gavin Collins, has already vowed to fight the ban, and seems to have placed the entirety of the backlash blame on "feminist bloggers."

Yeah, that'll definitely help shore up his company's image problem.

Luckily for Pam, if there's one thing DWTS doesn't mind, it's skimpy clothing. Check out which lucky pro will be teaching the actress a thing or two this season in our rundown of dancing pairs!
