Denise Richards, Kelly Preston Roped Into Sheen Mess

Colorado officials request interviews with Charlie's famous exes as they build their case against the rehabbing star

You know a relationship's trouble when you're still dealing with fallout from your ex 20 years later.

Such is the case with former Charlie Sheen paramour Kelly Preston, who was engaged to (not to mention shot by and—faster than you can say John Travolta—disengaged from) the actor way back in 1990.

E! News has confirmed that Colorado authorities have contacted both Preston and Sheen ex-wife Denise Richards and are trying to persuade the women, each of whom has an incendiary history with the Two and Half Men star, to voluntarily cooperate with the current criminal case involving Sheen's Christmas Day confrontation with current wife Brooke Mueller.

So have they bitten?

What do you think? If Richards didn't open up to Oprah, she's certainly not going to do it for a couple of guys in suits. The mother of Sheen's two daughters has refused the district attorney's request and has made it clear she will not speak with officials unless she is subpoenaed to do so, according to sources close to the case.

There's no word yet on whether any of Sheen's other past loves have cooperated with authorities, who are apparently working overtime in their quest to build a case against the "preventatively" rehabbing star.

Meanwhile, Mueller has decided to leave a treatment facility and complete her rehab regimen at home. She decided to relocate, accompanied by therapists and sober coaches, to tend to her and Sheen's twin boys, who turn 1 year old in March.

"She is at home with [Charlie's parents] Martin and Janet Sheen and the babies," a family insider tells E! News, "and they are all doing amazing."
