It's official: The reality airwaves are a dangerous place for raven-haired, slightly kooky second bananas.

An ABC rep has confirmed to E! News that after eight seasons cohosting Dancing With the Stars alongside Tom Bergeron, backstage fixture Samantha Harris has decided to leave the show (and, it follows, her all-access pass for spray tans).

But if you're looking for bad blood, look elsewhere.

"It has been an absolute pleasure to work with Samantha since she joined the Dancing With the Stars team in season two," Conrad Green, the show's executive producer, told E! News. "She will be much missed but always part of the Dancing With the Stars family.

"We support her and wish her all the best in her future endeavors."

Which, from the sounds of it, will be pretty much the same as her past endeavors.

Harris told People that she "loved every single second" of the cohost gig, but that she has decided to focus on her other time-consuming jobs at The Insider and Entertainment Tonight Weekend. (Harris joined The Insider and E.T. in 2009, after several years as an E! correspondent.)

Her notice comes in advance of the show's 10th season kicking off on March 22. Earlier this month, ABC confirmed that there would be less couples competing this spring than in the star-packed fall, and the celebs taking part will be announced a month or so before the show begins.

If not leaked sooner.
