George Clooney was at the Golden Globes tonight, but his heart was somewhere else.

While walking the red carpet at the rain-soaked event, Clooney only wanted to talk about one thing: the star-studded, multinetwork telethon he is organizing for Jan. 22 to benefit earthquake victims in Haiti.

Bono, Alicia Keys, Justin Timberlake, Sting and Christina Aguilera will be among the performers at the two-hour event taking place at the Beverly Hilton next Friday, said Clooney, who was nominated for Best Actor, Drama, for Up in the Air but lost out to Jeff Bridges.

More than 40 celebs are expected to attend, be they in Los Angeles or New York. Wyclef Jean will be helming the broadcast from Haiti, where he's been helping with relief efforts.

A number of celebs, including host Ricky Gervais, Harrison Ford, Nicole Kidman, Penélope Cruz, Paul McCartney, Jon Hamm, Adrian Grenier, Lisa Edelstein, Anna Kendrick, Joshua Jackson and Rosanna Arquette were sporting red, yellow and blue ribbons as a show of support to the cause.

When asked whether he had mixed feelings about attending the Globes in the wake of the devastation, Clooney, who skipped the Critics' Choice Awards two nights ago, had an unequivocal response:

"This is the perfect place for me to go and recruit some people."
