American Idol's "Pants (on the Ground)" on Fire

Congratulations, General Larry Platt! You've joined the esteemed ranks of William Hung, Scooter Girl and Bikini Girl as an instantly famous American Idol reject.

And only Hung had anything resembling Platt's musical prowess.

The 62-year-old's composition "Pants on the Ground," created for his A.I. audition, has become a viral sensation. Kids and DJs across the country are remixing the future classic, while some are giving it the autotune treatment. Others, like Brandon Gray, are retooling acoustic versions of the future classic.

And then, of course, there's Jimmy Fallon. His Neil Young impression kinda blows the YouTubers out of the water. Somehow, his spot-on performance manages to make lines like "looking like a fool, walkin' downtown with your pants on the ground" sound oddly eloquent.

The community activist is slated to appear on The View on Monday. Something tells us the cool cat won't be wearing gold in his mouth or his hat turned sideways.
