Antwon Tanner is going to need to learn some mad survival skills now that he's going to jail.

The actor better known as "Skills" Taylor on the CW's One Tree Hill was sentenced Wednesday to three months in prison for his role in a scam to sell stolen Social Security numbers across state lines.

A federal judge in Brooklyn gave Tanner until April 30 to report to lockup. Upon his release, Tanner will have to serve five months in home confinement before he's in the clear.

Things could've been worse.

Tanner, 34, pleaded guilty in August after getting caught in a sting operation trying to peddle 16 phony Social Security numbers and three counterfeit cards. He also admitted to knowingly breaking the law, since the digits were used to fraudulently purchase goods over a 2½-year period.

The actor, whose other credits include a plum role opposite Samuel L. Jackson in the 2005 flick Coach Carter, was facing up to 10 years behind bars and a $250,000 fine if he rejected the plea agreement from prosecutors.

Tanner's attorney, Gregory Watts, previously blamed his client's behavior on "stupidity" and called it "an embarassment" to his family and fans.
