UPDATE: A company insider now tells E! News that Jolie had only signed a three-year contract, which was up in 2008 and that "St. John has maintained a friendly, positive relationship with Angelina Jolie throughout the years."

Apparently, Angelina Jolie was too big for one fashion house's britches.
The megastar has been dropped from her modeling gig with St. John.
But she didn't gain weight or a bad attitude. Brad Pitt's lady love is simply too famous for the job.
"[Jolie] overshadowed the brand," chief executive officer Glenn McMahon told WWD. "We wanted to make a clean break from actresses and steer away from blondes and cleanse the palette."
Instead, the label hired redheaded model Karen Elson in an effort to try to be more fashion forward. We guess the Salt star's leather looks don't match that description.
"We needed to show a modern point of view of St. John," McMahon said. "We have evolved."
