Attorney: Brooke Mueller Did Not Retract 911 Claims, Is "Very Much in Love" With Sheen

Charlie Sheen's wife filing court docs to be able to restore communication with the star and work on their marriage

Brooke Mueller may have feared for her life last week, but she also fears for her marriage.

When Charlie Sheen's wife called 911 on Christmas morning, she claimed her husband threatened her with a knife and that she thought she was going to die. However, not long after, reports began to surface that the mother of the TV star's twins was attempting to retract her claims.

That simply isn't the case, her attorney, Yale Galanter, tells E! News.

"That never happened, she never recanted and she never changed her story," he said.

Which isn't to say she's not keen to reconnect with her husband, who, due to the standard issuance of a restraining order after the incident, she has not been in contact with since Christmas morning.

"There was never a split," Galanter said.

"'Reconcile' is a word the media has come up with, but they were never apart. The thing that is keeping them apart is this restraining order that we're going into court to try and fix."

Galanter reiterated that despite their currently living in separate states, his client is still very much together with Sheen and that they "absolutely want to stay together."

"They really want to work on their marriage and are very much in love. They have two beautiful babies and they just want to put this behind them and get on with their lives."

Galanter says he is filing papers in Aspen courts this morning requesting that the state-mandated protective order be lifted so communication between the couple can begin.

Sheen's Aspen-based attorney, Richard Cummins, had no comment on the filing.
